Merv Robertson, MBA (dist)
Managing Director


Since co-founding LTS Group in 1996, Merv has worked on a broad range of assignments, including strategic and asset management planning, process quality management and re-engineering, and business performance planning and management.

Prior to this, as an Associate Director at KPMG, Merv was responsible for establishing the organisation's Organisation and Development Group in Christchurch.

Merv has also held a number of executive line management positions including General Manager of Consumer Services, Strategic Planning Manager, Operations Manager and Quality Manager.

Merv has a Masters Degree in Business Administration, which he gained with distinction. During his studies, he specialised in Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Management with an emphasis on performance and change management. He is also a certified Quality Management System (9000 series) Auditor, has a New Zealand Certificate in Business Studies in Accounting, Quantitative Business Methods and Information Technology, and is a Qualified Technical Officer in telecommunications, specialising in transmission systems.

Amanda Carnie, B.Com
Executive Director


Amanda is responsible for leading LTS Group’s Human Resources division, which provides the complete range of professional Human Resource and Organisational Development advice and consulting services.  Her recent assignments have included business planning, organisational design and restructuring, policy development, recruitment, team and management development, and training.

Prior to co-founding LTS Group in 1996, Amanda worked in the Human Resources Group at Canterbury Health Ltd, the South Island’s largest employer with in excess of 2,500 staff.  During this time, Amanda focused on areas which involved the development of the organisation’s people at both strategic and operational levels, initially as an HR Consultant, and later as the HR Manager.  Amanda has also held a range of line management positions, including Retail Centre Manager, Service Centre Manager, and Market Operations Specialist.

Amanda has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Business Administration, in which she specialised in Human Resource Management, Organisational Development and Marketing Management.  She is an Associate of the NZ Institute of Management, and was also the recipient of a scholarship to study at the London Business School, where she completed the Accelerated Development Programme.

Anna Nilsen
Business Development Manager


Prior to joining the consultancy in 2010 Anna held a several senior sales roles within
a number of Australasia's largest hospitality companies. Her roles were typically focused in sales and yield management and included the design, redesign and implementation of marketing mix strategies designed to increase revenues and profitability.

Over 12 years in the Tourism and Hospitality industries has seen Anna working in
leading operations in New Zealand, Australia and Ireland. Positions held include sales analysis, key account management, distribution channel management, yielding policies and procedures, process re-design and staff training.

Since 2008 Anna has worked as a contractor and been involved in facilitating tourism studies, undertaking
market research, shadow shopping and process mapping.

Martin Emanuelsson, MSc
Economist and Research Analyst


Originally from Sweden, Martin settled in New Zealand in 2003. He currently holds a part-time long-term contract as the Research and Programme Manager of ARGOS, a 6-year, $8M research-based joint venture between The Agribusiness Group, Lincoln University and Otago University.

Prior to this, Martin was a researcher in economics at Lincoln University. His overseas experience includes 5 years of management consulting for a range of European multinationals as well as small local businesses.

During this time, Martin focused on business planning, performance measurement and change management, and was also employed by Lund University as a lecturer in Marketing, Management, Strategy, Business Performance Management and Organisational Theory.

Martin has a Master of Science degree in Business and Administration, in which he majored in management and marketing and qualified for a PhD scholarship and a summer MBA course scholarship. He has also completed the first two years of a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science, and has attended international MBA courses at the Reims School of Management in France.

Sara Mottus, Post Grad Dip (Bus Studies, HR),BSc (Social Work)
Human Resource Management and Recruitment & Selection


Sara has been an advisor and practitioner of Human Resource Management and Recruitment & Selection since 1999.  She has worked in service delivery functions in both Sweden and New Zealand. Most recently Sara has been engaged in Human Resources Advisory roles in the information technology and higher education sectors. These roles included advising on all aspects of employment relations and general human resources issues.

Sara is also experienced in HR project management, including designing and implementing performance management systems and reviewing and developing HR policies/procedures. She has spearheaded organisation wide remuneration reviews, had pivotal roles in restructures and strategic realignment processes, as well as designed and facilitated targeted training programs.

Prior to these roles Sara worked as a Recruitment Consultant responsible for providing staffing solutions to large global key accounts.

Sara is an Accredited Panel member of LEADR (Alternative Dispute Resolvers). She is also DDI accredited Targeted Selector/Recruiter and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies, endorsing Human Resources from Massey University, New Zealand, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Lund University, Sweden. Claudia Greene-Wahlgren, MScPsych, Assoc MAPS
Professional Counsellor


Claudia specialises in loss, grief and depression management. Based in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Claudia provides a wide range of services aimed at supporting and developing managers and staff in a diverse group of organisational settings.

Claudia provides cognitive behavioural therapy and behaviour modification programmes, and also delivers Employee Assistance Programmes, including the facilitation of depression, anxiety and stress management programmes. She is also available to provide discreet, individual assistance to senior executives and line managers dealing with stressful organisational issues such as redundancies and other organisational change.

While living in Europe and completing her psychology studies, Claudia and her Scandinavian husband designed a successful programme to reduce narcotic dependency in repeat offenders for the Swedish Criminal Care Department. Claudia has also worked for many years in the field of pain management in both Sweden and Australia and now provides counselling services for the National Association for Loss and Grief (NALAG).

Claudia has a Master of Science degree in Psychology from Lund University, Sweden. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Association (APS), an associate of Counselling Services Inc., Coffs Harbour, and is Registered with the Psychologists Registration Board, NSW.

William Kaliyati, PGDipCom (dist.), BA
Finance and Economics


William has had 6 years' consulting experience in selected business and economic fields. In the last 3 years his consulting focus has been on commercial management systems, business processes and performance, and on general accounting functions. In the past year, as an economist, he has mainly focused on generating regional overview reports and detailed industry reports for local government authorities in New Zealand.

Prior to this, William was a senior accountant for 3 years, generating financial statements, investment appraisals and managing tax issues for over 50 clients in various industries.

William has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Commerce (qualifying with distinction), in which he specialised in management accounting, business strategy, macroeconomics, econometrics and business statistics. William is in the final stages of completing his Masters degree in Commerce and Management, where he is researching the impact of immigration (brain drain) on the New Zealand economy.

Warwick Inch
Information Technology


Warwick brings to LTS Group a diverse range of experience in information technology, sales, production planning, product specification, graphic design and logistics management. Projects he has developed since joining the Group include a tailor-made CRM system and a health and safety audit management system.

He has previously held the position of IT Manager with one of Australasia's foremost flexible packaging manufacturers. In this role Warwick oversaw core IT systems and developed custom data solutions to complement and extend the business's legacy ERP system, ranging from shop-floor data recording to cost estimating, job scheduling and management reporting systems.

Warwick's broad range of skills and experience, and his understanding of the interplay between information technology and the commercial world, result in a unique skill set for determining and developing practical IT-based business solutions.

Alaister McDougall
Operations Management and Engineering


Alaister has practiced as a professional management consultant for the past five years; his specialist areas of consulting expertise are asset management, maintenance management, risk management and operations management. Alaister is a Marine Engineer, having spent seven years in the British Merchant Navy as a Cadet and Engineer Officer, and a further 20 years in the electricity industry, principally in hydro generation. He also has experience in geothermal and diesel generation and in the management of transmission facilities.

Alaister has held a number of line management positions including General Manager of a hydro generation company, Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager and various plant management positions. Both his line management and consulting experience has been gained in New Zealand, Nuie, Chile, the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. He also has experience in company governance, having been a Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of an irrigation company.
